This is an independent UK MOT checker. It is not a government website. It exists to make public MOT history easier to read.
People who type “mot checker uk” already know what they want. They have a plate and a decision to make. We designed the product around that moment: a high-contrast registration field, instant validation, and a dashboard that puts status, mileage and defects in one place.
When DVSA Trade API credentials are present, lookups use the official MOT History API. When they are not, the app serves realistic sample records so the interface can be evaluated end to end. We label demo data clearly. We do not pretend sample vehicles are live government records.
The official service remains at GOV.UK. We link to it because helpful content systems reward sites that send users to the primary source. Use both if you need a second pair of eyes.
